Since jump-1 is the least expensive way to travel from one system to another, strings or clusters of worlds connected by one parsec jump routes form the economic arteries of interstellar society.  On Imperial starcharts if such strings consist of ten or more worlds they are designated mains.  Clusters of 50 or more such worlds are listed as long mains.

Notable Mains of the Gateway Quadrant

The Sharshuda Long, a.k.a the Leyline - Encompasses most worlds in the Ikhnaton, Nightmare, Spearhead and Gaudix Drift subsectors, including the capital of Ley Sector, Jullanar (0404 Ley).  This main also extends into neighboring sectors, with more than twenty worlds in Fornast accesible via either Witchstone (1016 Ley) or Garthanion (1017 Ley) and over thirty worlds in the so-called Empty Quarter accessible via Arhanan (1101 Ley) or Auglis (1501 Ley, Red Zone).

The Krax Long - Connects nearly every world of the Krax Federation.

The Tasdin Long - coreward main of the Mandanin Co-Dominion, connecting some fifty worlds.

The Crucian Frontier - Mandanin's smaller main.

Negoiul's Spine - a main centered on the Sphere Fenix capital, Rutli (1507 Crucis Margin)

The Sydymic, Zanya, Chhung Kuo and Zarian Mains - each comprises the majority of worlds in their borders.

The Palompi Main - this main would connect elements of Ramayan and Sphere Fenix if only a fuel source could be located in the Palompi system (1701 Crucis Margin).

The Portal of Raqqa - this main is the major source of commercial traffic between the Zultanate and the Krmyians.  Due to the longstanding hostilities between these peoples most of this trade is conducted by third parties.

Note that the extent of the Jump-1 mains in the Supraherd T'tnaree, Taquari' Comnate, Union Crucis, Hv'ika Kamlin and Rm' Nai Adherence are unknown to Imperial astrocartography.
