Tempest Class Attack Cruisers

 

A 50,000 ton Imperial Navy vessel capable of 6 gees in realspace and 3 parsec hyperjumps. Armaments include a spinal mount meson gun, eight 100 ton particle bays, thirty 50 ton missile bays, eighty triple laser turrets, and twenty double fusion gun turrets. Defense include a nuclear damper, a meson screen, and significant hull armor. Most Tempests carry a complement of forty light fighters and 150 Imperial marines.

 

A squadron of Tempest Class Attack Cruisers is based out of the Verge Subsector of Glimmerdrift Reaches Sector. During peacetime the only larger Imperial vessels deployed in the Gateway Quadrant are the Lightning Class Cruisers.
